What do the lights on the front mean?
1.Check that the Cloud Receiver is plugged in and that the green LED is on. •If the green LED is not on then the Cloud receiver is not correctly powered and will not connect to the website (the LED should not be flashing). 2.Check that the Ethernet cable is connected at one end to the Cloud Receiver and at the other to a network point and that both ends are indicating a connection is present. •Ethernet devices such as routers and hubs normally have lights on to indicate that a device is connected if your Cloud receiver is not correctly connected these will not be on. If this is the case you should check your network equipment is working and that it is configured to allow new devices. 3.Check the orange LED is on and not flashing. •The middle orange/yellow LED will be on solidly if your device is connected to the website. If it is not on and you have allowed the cloud receiver a few minutes to connect please check the following: i.That you have an internet connection and you can browse to http://www.notionlite.com/ ii.If the network has any firewalls or web filters confirm that they have been configured to allow the device to connect to the internet over the standard ports (ports 80 and 443), you may need to white list the www.notionlite.com website. iii.If neither of the above is true try restarting your routers/hubs. iv.This is unlikely, but the following are possibilities (ask your IT expert): ➢Network does not have a DHCP server. If your network does not have DHCP you will require a fixed IP address. Click here to learn more. ➢Router/LAN has MAC filtering security which is blocking the Cloud Receiver. Add the Receiver MAC address to your router's security setup. The MAC address can be found on the device label. 4.Confirm that you have registered the Receiver and Transmitter-Sensors serial numbers correctly. •The last step in getting your data to the website is to check that the serial number of all your devices is correct, if the serial number is wrong then you will not receive any data. Note that you should allow at least 5 minutes for data to appear on the website. |
•The middle orange/yellow LED will be on solidly •The data on the website will update approximately every 30 minutes |
•All lights will go out except the green LED, which will flash every 8 seconds until the battery is too flat to use. •Ethernet is powered down. •Logged data will be sent to the web when power is restored. •The data will be complete up to the point that the battery became too flat to be useable. |
•Check that the backup battery is present and connected.
|
•You must not let the backup battery go more than a maximum of 5 years without renewal. Only use Ellab Monitoring Solutions Ltd-approved replacement battery pack. |
•No, all data which has been received by the Cloud Receiver from the Transmitter-Sensors, until the battery goes flat, will be held in the Receiver until the power and internet comes back on, then all the data held in memory will be sent to the website.
|
•If the website is not receiving data, the System Administrator(s) will receive an email and SMS (if credit is available and a valid phone number is provide for the User). Messages will be sent 3-hourly for the first 24 hours followed by daily messages for three subsequent days while there is no connection to the Cloud Receiver. |
•The default display shows temperatures in the range -20° to +40°C. If you need to show temperatures outside of this range look at Configure Transmitter-Sensors.

•BT Home Hub 6 appears to ignore DNS requests from a Notion Lite Cloud Receiver (Base Station) after being set up via DHCP; the customer will notice that after a power up the amber LED will change from fast flash to slow flash and stay in this mode. To work around this issue: 1.Connect the Notion Lite Cloud Receiver (Base Station) as usual; see: Setting Up your Notion Lite Equipment. 2.Open the Notion Lite Base Utility and click Search on the displayed window's menu bar. •The Notion Lite Base Utility program can be downloaded from the link below: www.supportftp.hanwell.com/Utilities/NotionLiteBaseConfig.zip Note: Before attempting to install the Base Utility Program you will need Administrator rights on your PC. 3.In the displayed window, click on the Serial Number of your device. 4.Click Set Up. 5.Record the values shown in the displayed window. •These will have been assigned by the BT Home Hub. 6.Change the IP address to a value outside the DHCP address range. •The default for the hub is 192.168.1.64 - 192.168.1.253, so 192.168.1.50 may be suitable; if not, check the entry for the currently connected device and choose an unused address. 7.Set the Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8. 8.Set the Default Gateway to 192.168.1.254. 9.Apply the settings. 10.The Notion Lite Cloud Receiver (Base Station) should now restart the TCP stack and then use the DNS server at 8.8.8.8. 11.The Unit should now connect to the server correctly within about 20-30 seconds. The amber LED will then stop flashing and display constantly. •This has been tested on BTHub6 with Firmware Version: SG4B10002244, updated 07-Sep-2017. |
