Alarm Event Scenarios

General

1.Sensor goes into alarm.
2.Buzzer sounds on Cloud Receiver and red LED flashes.
3.Bell goes red against Transmitter-Sensor in Notion Lite Alarm3.
4.Users who have been set up by the System Administrator to be SMS and/or email alarm recipients will receive those alarm messages.
5.User acknowledges alarm on Cloud Receiver by pressing the mute button on the underside of the unit. Red LED goes solid red (if alarm condition has not been rectified), otherwise light will go out.
6.User acknowledges Alarm in Notion Lite, bell will go yellow Alarm2 if alarm condition has not been rectified, otherwise bell will go green Alarm1.

Acknowledging an Alarm from Notion Lite

If an alarm is acknowledged from Notion Lite, but no one is near the Cloud Receiver to press the mute button, after approximately 10 minutes the alarm will be acknowledged on the Cloud Receiver as if someone has pressed the button.

Unacknowledged Multiple Alarms on same Sensor

Steps 1 to 4 as above, but this time the alarm is not acknowledged from Notion Lite, but someone near to the Cloud Receiver presses the mute button. The Cloud Receiver will behave as defined, that is the buzzer stops, the red LED goes solid. Users will get emails and SMS messages as before.

If the Transmitter-Sensor comes back into control the Cloud Receiver red LED will go out as it should, the bell symbol in Notion Lite will stay red because there are unacknowledged alarms.

If the same Transmitter-Sensor then goes back out of control the Cloud Receiver will indicate an alarm as normal, but Notion Lite will take no action (that is, there will be no repeat emails or SMS messages) as the alarm is still unacknowledged from last time.

If after 3 hours the alarm has not been acknowledged in Notion Lite, an email and SMS message will be sent to users to notify them that there are Unacknowledged Alarms, repeating every 3 hours for the first 24 hours, then daily messages for the next 3 days, until the alarm has been acknowledged.

(SMS messages will only be sent if there are available credits and the user's phone number is set.)

If, for example, the Transmitter-Sensor has gone in and out of control 20 times during the period for which the alarm has not been acknowledged from Notion Lite, the alarm list will have 20 alarms on it when the user eventually goes into the alarm to acknowledge it, so they have an audit trial of all the excursions.

System Connection Failure

If after 3 hours the alarm has not been acknowledged in Notion Lite, an email and SMS message will be sent to users to notify them that there are Unacknowledged Alarms, repeating every 3 hours for the first 24 hours, then daily messages for the next 3 days, until the alarm has been acknowledged.

(SMS messages will only be sent if there are available credits and the user's phone number is set.)

Alarm Notifications by SMS Message

In order for users to be able to receive SMS messages to their mobile phones to tell them that a Transmitter-Sensor has gone into Alarm, you must purchase SMS credits. See Modify your Company's Account.
