Scenario 1
A Transmitter-Sensor has become defective and has to be replaced by a new one in the same cold storage unit. You have purchased the new temperature Transmitter-Sensor from Ellab Monitoring Solutions Ltd and now need to add the new Transmitter-Sensor to Notion Lite.
There are two distinct ways of achieving this:
If the new and old Transmitter-Sensors are of the SAME type, for example an External Thermistor Transmitter-Sensor is being replaced by another External Thermistor Transmitter-Sensor, the new Transmitter-Sensor can be added to the System by 'swapping' it with the old one (keeping the data collected by the 'old' Transmitter-Sensor) as follows: 1.Sign onto the Notion Lite website. 2.Physically install the new Transmitter-Sensor following the procedure outlined in Add a New Transmitter-Sensor. 3.Select Settings >Transmitters to give the Transmitter Configuration table. 4.Select Swap In against the Transmitter-Sensor which is to be replaced. 5.In the Swap Physical Device page, enter the ID of the new Transmitter-Sensor in the New Product ID box. 6.Click Swap.
|
If the new and old Transmitter-Sensors are of DIFFERENT types, the new Transmitter-Sensor will have to be added to Notion Lite by following the steps outlined in Add a New Transmitter-Sensor to physically install the new Transmitter-Sensor. Data collected by the 'old' Transmitter-Sensor will not be kept in this case. •If you have already reached the maximum number of Transmitter-Sensors allowed when replacing a Transmitter-Sensor with a Transmitter-Sensor of a different type, you should set the 'old' replaced Transmitter-Sensor to Disabled before adding the new one.

Scenario 2
A Transmitter-Sensor has been returned to Ellab Monitoring Solutions Ltd for repair. You have taken a working Transmitter-Sensor from another cold storage unit and placed it in the cold storage unit which had the defective Transmitter-Sensor. In this case the temperature history data from the working Transmitter-Sensor will be for its previous location.
In this case you would need to carry out the following procedure.
1.Select Swap Out for the 'good' Transmitter-Sensor.
2.Click to Swap Out to remove the association between the Transmitter-Sensor and its 'old' data.
3.Select Swap In in the Transmitter Configuration table at the position corresponding to the defective Transmitter-Sensor.
4.Click Swap to add the Transmitter-Sensor as a 'new' device with the Product ID of the defective Transmitter-Sensor.
The Transmitter-Sensor with its original name will still appear in the Transmitter Configuration table and can be reported on.
| Note:Swapping out Transmitter-Sensors in Notion Lite is only possible for Transmitter-Sensors of the same type (e.g. swapping an External Thermistor for an External Thermistor Transmitter-Sensor). |
•To replace a Transmitter-Sensor with a Transmitter-Sensor of a different type, follow the steps outlined in Add a New Transmitter-Sensor to physically install the new Transmitter-Sensor. •Notion Lite it will take up to 2 hours for the base to get a new Transmitter-Sensor list and acquire data for the new Transmitter-Sensor. If you need data straight away, you should remove the backup battery and then power cycle the base. •If you have already reached the maximum number of Transmitter-Sensors allowed when replacing a Transmitter-Sensor with a Transmitter-Sensor of a different type, you should set the 'old' replaced Transmitter-Sensor to Disabled before adding the new one. |
